Purpose of Life

When we ask what is purpose of life, we are seeking to understand the ultimate goal for our life, as if we have the power or control to change and decide the future and make our lives worth living.

As a matter of fact, we are made up of small elementary particles, which are governed by the laws of nature, and we just experience the ride of life. We keep on experiencing the things which happen to us or around us.

It is not possible to have multiple future paths (Absence of Free Will), so why worry about the purpose after all?

Maybe, we have this itch to make our lives worth living, or worth the resources we consume in this nature. After all, the the things just happen according to laws of nature, and the right question to ask would be "why the nature is the way it is? ", "why there is nature after all? or why this existence?"

The purpose of nature is unknown, or maybe that it remains beyond our comprehension. The nature is so big, that our minds might not comprehend it. Its so vast and complicated yet still seems to be able to comprehensible, which is the most uncomprehensible thing about it.

The universe is so big, that if you can see 10,000 galaxies in one second, you will have to sit around 63 years to see the all galaxies(2 trillion) in observable universe.

Each of these galaxies are consisting of the order of 100 billions of stars, trillions of planets.i.e. same can be applied to the stars and planets, if you can see 10,000 stars in one second, you will have to sit around 3.2 years to see the all stars(100 billion) in a galaxy.

We humans are not the strongest, fastest but we think big, and have shown the ability to understand the nature.
We have no Idea what is purpose of nature, what it wants out of its existence, but since we give ourself so much of self importance, or at least to this human life that we would like to assign a purpose to it, to make it worth living, and to make our existence meaningful.

Understanding the accurate purpose require the understanding of mind of mother nature. Now you might argue that mind and matter are two different things and could be that mind is not possible to emerge out of neurons, but to me it seems as if we can not feel or aware or become conscious without the complex structure of neurons. But what are neurons anyway, they just act like transistors, if I replace them one by one with transistors, will I still be able to feel and aware of my existence? can I transfer all my consciousness to a computer, maybe yes, maybe no, or consciousness is not emergent from neurons, but it may be emergent from the laws of nature, and the complex structure of neurons is just a medium to experience it.

The Dark Universe

The colours, sounds, smells, taste, feelings, emotions, thoughts, the awareness, the consciousness all of these things can not be explained by mere matter. There are no colours, or sounds in this world. The world is dark and scary. It is our mind which maps these electromagnetic waves to colours, and longitudinal medium waves to sounds. The matter could be just a medium to experience the consciousness, and the consciousness could be emergent from the laws of nature, which is beyond our comprehension as of now.

The consciousness is highly debated topic, and many renowned physicists and philosophers have tried to understand it. It is called as the hard problem of consciousness, i.e. Hard in the sense that How would you explain the colours, sounds, feelings, emotions, thoughts, awareness, consciousness in terms of matter or waves? (since these are the fundamental building blocks of natures matter.)

We humans do nothing without the medium of atmosphere. Its interesting to note that our lives are not totally independent. The food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the sunlight we absorb, all of these things are dependent on the nature and its laws. We are not independent beings, but rather a part of this vast interconnected web of life.

Probably, we have to look at a one conscious being, the nature itself, rather than being selfish and thinking about our own lives only. If we carefully think, who we are ? We probably have nothing to do with our memory, our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions but it could be that we are experiencing the ride of life with same indistinguishable consciousness. It has no gender, no age, no race, no religion, no nationality, but species? Does consciousness vary with the species? What are your thoughts?
